Every Monday in April, whole blood donors will receive up to $20 in e-gift cards with a successful donation.
Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Now through the end of April, donate platelets or double reds at one of our three donor centers and receive a $10 e-gift card for your donation attempt. All donors who successfully donate will receive an extra $10 gift card, doubling your impact.

Whole blood, double reds, and platelet donation appointments are available throughout the day at all three centers.
A platelet blood donation involves collecting a donor’s blood, separating the platelets from it using a special machine, and then returning the remaining blood components to the donor. This type of donation is crucial for patients undergoing treatments like chemotherapy or surgeries, as platelets help with blood clotting and prevent excessive bleeding. The appointment lasts approximately 2 hours, from registration to refreshments.
A double red donation involves donating two units of red blood cells in one session. This process uses a machine to separate and collect the red blood cells while returning the plasma and platelets to the donor. It’s an efficient way to maximize the impact of your donation, as red blood cells are the most needed blood component.
Prepare for your donation
- Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids before your appointment.
- Eat well: Have a healthy meal before donating. Avoid fatty foods.
- No aspirin: abstain from any aspirin products 48 hours prior to your platelet donation
- Bring ID: Make sure to bring a valid ID to your appointment.
- Relax: Wear comfortable clothing and bring something to pass the time, like a book or music.
