As a token of our appreciation\, you will receive a $15 meal voucher for your contribution. \nSee you at the Inova Conference Center on February 19th! \nDonor eligibility:\n \nTo meet the basic requirements for donating blood\, you must be in good health and: \n\nHave a pulse and blood pressure within acceptable limits.\nHave a normal temperature.\nMeet the minimum age requirement\, 17 (16 with parent consent)\nHave an acceptable blood hemoglobin level.\nBe free of infections that can be transmitted through blood transfusion\, or risk factors closely associated with exposure to such infections.\n\nThere are several potential reasons that may cause you to be temporarily or permanently deferred from donating blood. These include but are not limited to: \n\nNot feeling well on the day of donation.\nA history of nonprescription injection drug use.\nGetting tattooed in the last three months (unless done under sterile conditions and at a state-licensed facility).\nHaving certain medical conditions or receiving certain medical treatments or medications.\nA history of residence or travel to areas endemic for certain transfusion transmitted infections. for example\, travelling to an area where malaria is endemic.\n\nDonor deferral rules with respect to past European residence (previously linked to variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) were removed.
